Abandoned St Kitts & Nevis: Derelict House, Basseterre | Urbex

We stumbled across this derelict house on a central street in the capital of St Kitts & Nevis. Piles of rubbish littered the external entrance, the crude construction looked as though it had been abandoned for a good few years. Most doors and windows were haphazardly boarded up, however what was left of the main entrance door was wide open.

Half tiptoeing, half leaping over the rubbish, I felt the floorboards struggle as I landed inside the house. Lit by the warm sunlight sneaking through gaps in the windows, I could see that the simple dwelling was mostly empty inside. The story of this decaying abode; its history, why it was abandoned and for how long for, I’ll never know. The brevity of this post reflects the brevity of the explore- short but sweet.
